In today’s world anxiety is “par for the coarse”, especially with what’s happening with the financial industry crises happening in the United States as well as all around the world. Nobody is immune to the anxiety we are all feeling to the unknown factor of what is going to happen and to what kind of world we all are heading into.
When a person is filled with anxiety and is nervous about a situation the body is letting that person know that it is time to get back to basics, clean out the system and begin a regimen to a more calm and peaceful way of life or you could contract serious disease or much worse.
Anxiety is the body’s’ way of telling you to slow down ! A variety of circumstances may cause nervousness. The stomach and intestinal tract are very closely connected with the nervous system and therefore must be tended to in order to heal from the anxiety disorder.
Many times a person can become extremely nervous because of overwork, improper food, lack of sleep, and ingestion of chemicals. Waste matter in the body is the main culprit for this disorder because the waste matter leaches into the blood and affects the nervous system, especially the nerves of the brain, causing irritability, headaches, and a wide variety of problems.
We mustn’t forget that the foods we eat affect ALL the nervous system, because what we eat and drink is what feeds and nourishes the nerves. This is important to note because anxiety doesn’t only effect the person with the disorder, it effects every one around that person as well.
To help alleviate the symptoms of anxiety hot and cold fomentations to the spine, stomach, liver, and spleen, are very beneficial. A prolonged warm bath for about an hour or two in duration, if agreeable, followed by a cool bath or shower with vigorous rubbing, is excellent. A Gentle massage will also help greatly.
I suggest meditation as a means to calm the nerves, it has always put me in a relaxed state, and so much so that I usually end up sleeping and that is always beneficial. Plenty of rest in a well-ventilated room is essential.
The nervous person MUST get the body system cleaned out. I can not stress this enough and the use of enemas and herb laxatives will help the bowels move more freely to maintain the good health needed to overcome Anxiety.
The following herbs are excellent for strengthening the nerves:
1) Horehound
