Throughout history civilizations have had their share of disease and that included the Ancient Aztec people who out of survival developed a grain so powerful in it’s healing properties that at one point it was valuable enough to be used as currency and was used as their most sacred of offerings to their Gods.
The grain Salvia Hispanica L - or Salba as it is more commonly known today - was almost lost forever because of the Conquistadors savage overthrow of the Aztec civilization. But to our great fortune and wonderful thanks to two Agentininan brothers who rediscovered and cultivated the seeds in 1991 and now the grain’s recovery is for sure guaranteed.
Gram for gram Salba has 8 times the Omega 3 fatty acids that Salmon, 6 times more Calcium than whole milk, 3 times more antioxidants than fresh blueberries, and more protein than soy with a higher quality protein base.

Weight lose is almost assured with Salba because the grain expands in the stomach giving one that fullness feeling for several hours squelching the hunger pains.

I would say that the common name is not Salba (a trademarked name) but chia seed. Otherwise, I agree: great stuff.
Great post and yes indeed this is a great addition to any diet!
However, I have to disagree with Leisureguy (above)as I too at a time thought that Salba and Chia were the same but they are not. Salba is grown under different conditions and is scientifically tested to contain what it says it contains. Chia seeds unfortunately, although still good are not the same in terms of their purity and nutritional value.
