King Arthur’s castle, Knights of the Round Table, rescues of fair maidens from the clutches of a fire-breathing, scary 100 foot lizard ! Ok, I had to get that out of my head too, so let’s forget about what’s imagined when the word “dragon” appears.

Let me now tell you about a wonderful rainforest find called Sangre de Drago, indigenous to Peru, Mexico and Ecuador this odd, thick, blood-like resin that oozes out of tress from the Croton genus family, has been harvested by the indigenous peoples for thousands of years, but it wasn’t until 1979 that scientists were able to isolate the first of three resins with active healing components: an alkaloid called taspine, not only an inflammatory, but anti-virus and lab-induced tumor remover.

When it was discovered that this “ooze” actually had some medicinal properties scientists from around the world including a science research team from Belgian in 1993 showed that this natural combo, aids in scab formation and helps to regenerate skin by boosting the collagen production.

Sangre de Drago is rich in antioxidants, phenols, phytosterols, and a whole host of other active alkaloids and lignans, all of which compounds its ability to fight viruses, infection and rapid healing of wounds.

Some maladies being treated by Sangre de Drago include: HSV-1&2(genital herpes), Herpes zoster(shingles), influenza, parain-fluenza, hepatitis A and B, herpes simplex 1&2, gastric ulcers, diarrhea, stomach and colon cancer.

It is used topically but can be ingested,I don’t suggest ingesting though, because of its really bad taste, and being the precautionary person I am, I will suggest anyone wanting to try this phenomenal resin, Sangre de Drago, go to a knowledgeable physician or practicing herbalist.
