I’ve NEVER heard of MotherWort until a friend of mine told me what it did for her. My friend was having female troubles and after using this herb for only one week her problems had disappeared. So I thought it a good idea to write about it.

I’d never heard of MotherWort but evidently it is very well-known and is used with excellent results to promote menstrual flow. Come to find out this herb is very useful in nervous complaints, heart flutters fainting, cramps, convulsions, delirium, sleeplessness, and hysteria.

A remedy for colds, chest colds in particular. Kills worms. has a excellent effect if taken during pregnancy. Good for liver infections and suppressed urine flow.

MotherWort should be taken warm, and a hot fomentation wrung out of the strong tea will relieve cramps and pain due to painful menstruation. Take 1/2 teaspoon three times daily in a glass of water for continued benefits.

The entire plant is usable with the medicinal properties being an antispasmodic, laxative, tonic, hepatic and excellent nervine.

I was absolutely stunned how quickly this particular herb reacts with such benefits to the body, I tried it myself with excellent results.

The scientific name for the MotherWort is Leonuru Cardiaca and the more common names for it are lion’s tail, lion’s ear, and throw-wort (don’t ask me why because I don’t know?), but any name you give its one of natures true health remedies around.

Please consult your family physician or holistic intern BEFORE taking any herbs or medications.

If you’ve ever had that anxious feeling because you were meeting your in laws for the first time, had that nervous feeling when interviewing for that dream job you’ve been wanting, or just had that feeling of uncomfortable bowel syndrome, have I got the herb for you.

Known for it’s aromatic, stimulant, tonic anodyne, antispasmodic, nervine medicinal properties Valerian root is very useful in treating hysteria, colic, low fevers and even the common cold. When taken hot Valerian root tea will promote menstruation, and alleviate gaseous bowels.

When applied to sores and pimples externally and also taken internally, the healing properties of this herb is unsurpassed. You’ll notice right away of the blemishes disappearing and wonder why nobody told you about this herb before now.
Valerian relieves palpitations of the heart too, but beware DO NOT BOIL THE ROOT. The medicinal properties, when boiled, may result in a poisonous tincture and if taken in large quantities over several weeks can be dangerous.

However, like many natural herbs when taken at the right direction, Valerian becomes a valuable household necessity that for generations has benefited millions.

There are several names for this wondrous herb, and here are but a few, Valerian officinalis, English valerian, German valerian, great wild valerian, Vermont valerian, vandal root, all heal, setwall American English valerian – (grown in the United States).
